What's your method for calculating a tip?
for standard tip* (20%) i take the total, double it, then move the decimal over to the left one place. for example, $15.78 x 2 = $31.56, then move the decimal over to come up with $3.15 for 20% tip. come on, didn't we all learn this in like grade school?

i got my free 10 pack of moo mini cards in the mail a few days ago. am i the only one that thinks they aren't that great?

they do feel nice when i close my eyes though.
I've just spent the evening watching the first two episodes of Six Feet Under twice on syndication on Bravo. I heart this show so much. I know what I will be doing with my spare time this fall. As thrilled as I am that Bravo got the rights to SFU, they did a horrible clean up job to make it fit for a television audience. If you are going to replace "ass" with "butt" you should at least try to match the tone of the actor's voice. It reminds me of the black bras they always paint on that slut, Samantha, from Sex and the City when it runs on TBS.

Jenny has a really good word that I love: schluff. Schluffs are somewhere between a nap and a full on night-time sleeping session. Most schluffs are taken during daylight hours but are deeper and a bit more hardcore than a typical nap. I often get voicemails from her saying "I hope you're not taking a schluff but..."
Update: I just found out shluff is yiddish for nap. Jenny's not as cool as I thought.
Everytime I log onto flickr someone has new pictures of the Corpse Flower that is blooming at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. It looks to me like that thing should be stuffed and fried up and fed to the homeless of New York, so I whipped up a recipe for Corpse Flower Fritter stuffed with Herbed Cheese.
